About

Who we are

Affordable Community Holdings Corp. is an early-stage, mission-driven nonprofit organization, established in November 2024, that is developing education, technical-assistance and future financing capabilities for Alabama and Maryland communities.

An early-stage organization

Affordable Community Holdings Corp. was established in November 2024 to address barriers to economic opportunity faced by disenfranchised communities and individuals, underserved populations, low-income households and veterans — including limited access to financial education, thin or damaged credit histories, and difficulty reaching fair and responsible capital.

The organization is at an early stage. Its current work is organizational: designing program curricula, developing technical-assistance capacity, building governance and compliance systems, and seeking funding and partnerships. No programs are operating yet and no financial products are offered.

Affordable Community Holdings Corp. intends to pursue certification as a Community Development Financial Institution and to seek all required lending licenses and approvals. Neither has been obtained. The organization will not originate, broker, arrange or fund loans unless and until the required certifications, licenses, approvals, funding and compliance systems are in place.

Alabama and Maryland are the organization's intended areas of service. Communities throughout Alabama, including Huntsville, along with Baltimore, Prince George's County, Montgomery County, Western Maryland, Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore are being considered as potential future service areas rather than current operating locations.

Our mission

To expand economic opportunity for disenfranchised communities and individuals, underserved populations, low-income persons, and veterans through equitable access to financial products, education, technical assistance, and future responsible financing programs.

Our vision

A future in which people, regardless of income or background, have access to the resources and support needed to build economic stability and generational wealth.

  • Integrity

We describe our work honestly, including what is planned, what requires licensing, and what is not yet in place.

  • Empowerment

We intend to build capability — financial knowledge, business skills and housing readiness — rather than dependency.

  • Community

We plan to work alongside residents, veterans, community organizations and public and private partners across Alabama and Maryland.

A Presence in Alabama and Maryland, with Statewide Intent

Affordable Community Holdings Corp. intends to serve communities in Alabama and Maryland, with a long-term focus on expanding access to affordable housing and community development resources in both states. Areas under consideration for future service include communities throughout Alabama, including Huntsville and other underserved markets, as well as Baltimore, Prince George's County, Montgomery County, Western Maryland, Southern Maryland, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

These locations represent potential future service areas only. The organization does not currently operate in all of these communities, and the timing and scope of future activities will depend on available funding, strategic partnerships, applicable licensing and regulatory requirements, and local implementation capacity.
